April 28 Pre-Sale Date for Quebec City Summer Festival Hydro-Québec Badges!

March 3, 2010

Quebec City, March 3, 2010 – The first 60,000 badges for the Quebec City Summer Festival will go on sale on April 28 in greater Quebec City area Metro supermarkets. Offered at a special early-bird price, these badges were snapped up in less than 30 hours last year, so Festival fans are advised to hurry again this year!

Online Ticket Office

This year, the Quebec City Summer Festival (July 8 to 18) has found a new way to make life easier for festivalgoers: like all major events of its kind, it now has online ticketing. As of 10 AM on Saturday, May 1, Hydro-Québec badges will be offered at the regular price on the Festival website at www.infofestival.com.

“We really had no choice,” explained Quebec City Summer Festival general manager, Daniel Gélinas. “Requests to purchase badges online in advance were starting to pile up. We needed to provide this service to satisfy the public and accommodate our fans from outside the area.“

‘Smart’ Bracelets

This year, the daily colour-coded bracelets sold with the Hydro-Québec badge will be replaced by a ‘smart’ bracelet containing a microchip that is valid for all 11 days of the Festival. This innovation eliminates counterfeiting and will make it easier for security to control admissions.

The Program

Much of the 2010 lineup, including the exclusive shows, will be released on April 27, at the same time as the price of this year’s badges. With only one show announced to date, Rammstein, slated for July 18, enthusiasm is building, with 300 comments already posted on the Festival website.

All the details on the sale of Hydro-Québec badges can be found at www.infofestival.com

The Quebec City Summer Festival is presented by Bell in collaboration with Molson Dry.
